Isn’t it the most amazing thing when you step into nature and open you heart? The beauty of life seems to just unfold and reveal itself and as you settle into being within it, you too are restored. For me the spirit of the drum supports our reconnection to nature and enables us to reawaken and once more establish our place within the tapestry of life, knowing that we are not separate from it, but instead a unique, vital and beautiful part of the nature that sustains and supports us. It’s wonderful to immerse yourself in nature and if you can, take your drum. Why don’t you, take the time to get into nature today?

Try the ideas below to help you reconnect and settle into nature:
Touch a tree in your chosen space, ask to settle within this sacred space so that you might mindfully walk or drum. Once you have a sense that you are welcomed into the heart of this space, feel or imagine yourself stepping in. Place your hand on your heart and ask your heart light hold you in this space, imagine a beautiful colour expanding into your light field to gently surround you and support your deepening connection to the trees and nature around you. As to wander let nature unfold and reveal itself to you, as you settle into being. Wander and wonder at the awe within this sanctuary space. Feel into the harmony and into the peace and let it settle over you.
For those who wish to drum
Let yourself be guided to where to rest and/or drum. Settle into yourself more deeply as you let go of the outside world and let nature in. Feel the essence of the trees and the air that moves through them in a graceful dance, observe their movement, imagine how they witness life as it moves on through their space….connect to your drum, the heartbeat of the earth, and when you feel ready take up nature’s rhythms as you drum….let the drum drum you as you are connected to and held by this space. Ask nature what it needs and drum this essence into being.
As you gently finish drumming, sit in the harmony and peace of this space and let your energy settle until you feel completely grounded.
Walking out and back into your day
You will know when you are ready to walk back to your starting point, to the guardian tree of this space. Offer your gratitude before you step back into your day, imagine yourself releasing your awareness of this sacred moment, trusting that you have all you need. Shift your focus into your body’s movement as you walk gently and quietly into the next moment of your day. Safety is about being and feeling grounded in your body. Let yourself settle into this so you feel supports safe and contained within your body.
Sometimes we find ourselves drawn into our busy lives, remind yourself to stop, and infuse peace and harmony back into the moment. Place your hand on your heart and say 9 times quietly to yourself: ‘I am very very peaceful and I choose to infuse the peacefulness and into this moment of my day’. Let yourself become peaceful and be the peace in this moment as everything that is peaceful just lifts away.
